President Mahama Commissions 11 New Ghanaian Envoys

 President John Dramani Mahama has formally inducted 11 newly appointed Ghanaian envoys who will serve as Ambassadors and High Commissioners in various countries around the world.

The commissioning ceremony, held in Accra on Wednesday, October 1, followed the receipt of agrément (formal consent) from the respective host nations throughout September 2025.

All the appointees are non-career diplomats, chosen to advance Ghana’s interests abroad under the current administration.

Those sworn in include:

  • Mr. Kwesi Ahwoi – Ambassador to Serbia
  • Mr. Kojo Choi – Ambassador to South Korea
  • Captain (Rtd.) George Kofi Nfojoh – High Commissioner to Togo
  • Prof. Dora Francisca Edu-Buandoh – High Commissioner to Canada
  • Alhaji Abdul-Rahman Harruna Attah – High Commissioner to Namibia
  • Dr. Kwame Ampofo – Ambassador to Hungary
  • Mr. Benjamin Anani Quashie – High Commissioner to South Africa
  • Mr. Magnus Kofi Amoatey – Ambassador to Congo
  • Mr. Benedict Batabe Assorow – Ambassador to the Holy See (Vatican)
  • Prof. Mrs. Esi Awuah – Ambassador to Switzerland
  • Mr. Mohammed Abubakari Manaf – Ambassador to Benin

Each envoy was presented with official instruments of commission, authorising them to assume their diplomatic responsibilities in their respective postings.

The appointments, according to the Presidency, signal Ghana’s renewed commitment to strengthening bilateral ties and pursuing its foreign policy agenda under President Mahama’s leadership.

The envoys are tasked with projecting Ghana’s political, economic, and cultural interests while fostering deeper cooperation and partnerships with their host countries for shared progress.
