Health Ministry Sets Up Committee to Probe Techiman-Krobo Nursing College Unrest

 The Ministry of Health has constituted a seven‑member committee to investigate the recent unrest at the Nursing Training College, Techiman‑Krobo.

The committee, chaired by Prof. Vida Nyagre Yekong, Deputy Registrar of the Health Facilities Regulatory Authority and former Dean of the School of Nursing at UDS, is tasked with establishing the facts surrounding the incident, reviewing compliance with existing policies and codes of conduct, and recommending appropriate action to the Minister of Health.

Other members include Mr. Ahmed Bennett Mumuni, Human Resource Manager of the Bono East Regional Coordinating Council; Nana Asa Akon Panin, Techiman‑Krobohene; Mrs. Hephzibah Gyimah, Deputy Director of Operations and representative of the Nursing and Midwifery Council; Mrs. Isha Sena Iddrisu, Secretary to the Conference of Heads of Health Training; Nashiru‑Deen Akparibo, President of the Ghana Nurse‑Midwife Trainees’ Association; and Dr. Inua Yussuf Issahaku Esq., Legal Director of the Ministry of Health.

The committee is expected to submit a comprehensive report to the Minister on or before August 11, 2026.
