Swift intervention by personnel of the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) at the Peki Fire Station saved two lives following a road traffic accident along the Kpeve–Peki stretch in the Volta Region on Tuesday morning.
The station received a distress call at 7:41 a.m. reporting a collision between a Rhino truck, registration number GX 3516-16, and a Toyota Voxy, registration number GN 6973-25. Firefighters promptly arrived at the scene and successfully rescued two male victims, aged 52 and 20 years.

In addition to the rescue, crews salvaged assorted drinks and ammonium sulphate fertilizer from the crash site to prevent further hazards. The cause of the accident is currently under investigation.

The GNFS has urged motorists to strictly observe road safety regulations and exercise caution to reduce the risk of traffic accidents.
