Minority demands reduced cost of COVID-19 mandatory test

The Minority in Parliament has called on a downward review of the cost of the compulsory covid-19 testing at the Kotoka International Airport.

In a press briefing on Tuesday, 15 March 2022, the Tamale South MP Haruna Iddrisu and the Minority Leader lamented that the pandemic was being used to unduly make fortune.

“For non-Ghanaians to be compelled to pay an amount of $150 in the name of Covid test in which its procurement is not questionable and raises eyebrows on the fact that covid is being used as a caveat to make money instead of combating a pandemic we do not think that person travelling to Ghana from abroad be made to pay $150,” he said.

He further called for a scrap of the cost to make it free for all.
