Head Coach of Ghana’s senior national football team, Carlos Queiroz, has extended heartfelt solidarity to victims of the recent floods in Accra, assuring them that the Black Stars stand united with the nation in this difficult time.

In a message issued from the team’s camp in the United States, Queiroz said the technical staff and players were deeply moved by reports and images of devastation caused by the floods. He noted that while preparations continue for Ghana’s upcoming World Cup clash against Colombia in Kansas City on July 3, the plight of affected families remains foremost in their thoughts.
“To the families who have lost loved ones, those displaced from their homes, and everyone affected — we are with you,” Queiroz stated. He stressed that football becomes secondary when the nation suffers, adding: “Ghana is one family. When Accra suffers, we all suffer.”
The coach pledged that the team would carry the resilience of Ghanaians in their hearts as they take to the pitch, drawing inspiration from the strength of flood victims to give their best performance. “Your resilience is our inspiration. We will give everything to make you proud and to bring some hope in this difficult time,” he affirmed.
The Ghana Football Association also shared the message across its platforms, underscoring the national team’s commitment to stand with citizens beyond the football field.
The floods, which followed heavy rains in Accra, have left several communities submerged, with homes destroyed and families displaced. Relief efforts are ongoing as authorities and humanitarian agencies work to provide shelter and support to affected residents.
