The Second Deputy Governor of the Bank of Ghana, Mrs. Matilda Asante-Asiedu, has called for sustained investment in professionalism, ethical leadership, and trust as Ghana’s banking sector adapts to rapid technological change, artificial intelligence, regulatory reforms, and global economic uncertainty.
Speaking at the launch of The Ghanaian Banker Magazine on Friday, Mrs. Asante-Asiedu commended the Chartered Institute of Bankers, Ghana (CIB Ghana), for creating a platform that fosters professional dialogue, knowledge-sharing, and informed reflection on the future of banking.
“Banking is, and will always be, fundamentally built on trust. That trust is not granted; it is earned, and it must be protected through integrity, professionalism, and responsible conduct at every level of our institutions,” she emphasized.
She further encouraged CIB Ghana to position The Ghanaian Banker as a bold and influential voice that challenges conventional thinking, promotes informed debate, and contributes meaningfully to the development of Ghana’s financial sector.
The launch underscored the growing importance of professional institutions in shaping the trajectory of Ghana’s banking industry, particularly as technological innovation and global shifts redefine financial services.
