The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has announced a temporary shutdown of its passport application website, passport.mfa.gov.gh, due to technical issues.
In a public notice addressed to all media houses, the Ministry explained that its technical team, working closely with the National Signals Bureau, is “feverishly” working to restore the site. The disruption has affected applicants attempting to access online passport services.
The Ministry apologized for the inconvenience and assured the public that updates will be provided once the problem is resolved.
This development highlights the growing reliance on digital platforms for essential public services and underscores the need for robust digital infrastructure, enhanced cybersecurity, and reliable e-governance systems to support Ghana’s modernization agenda.
