The Youth Employment Agency (YEA), under the leadership of Chief Executive Officer Malik Basintale, has announced the establishment of its first-ever EV Delivery Brigade, a groundbreaking initiative expected to create more than 10,000 jobs for young Ghanaians.
The programme will deploy over 10,000 electric bikes across all 16 regions, forming a structured, regulated, and uniformed delivery service. Beneficiaries will undergo specialised training to operate within the brigade, ensuring professionalism and efficiency in the delivery sector.
To support the initiative, EV battery charging and swapping stations will be established nationwide. In addition, young people will receive training in EV repairs, maintenance, and assembly, equipping them with technical skills to sustain the programme and contribute to Ghana’s growing green economy.
CEO Basintale described the EV Delivery Brigade as a major step toward creating sustainable employment opportunities while positioning Ghana as a leader in green transport and delivery economy innovation.
The initiative reflects YEA’s broader mandate of empowering youth through job creation and skills development, while advancing Ghana’s transition to a cleaner, technology-driven economy.
