Benab Ajax Sports Academy fail to make it to the finals of the KGL Super Cup Champions League

A second half penalty by Great Corinthians Juniors striker, Issahaka Suale condemned Benab Ajax Sports Academy to defeat in the first semi-finals of the ongoing KGL Super Cup Champions League at the Madina Sports Complex.

Issahaka Suale had earlier had his effort from the spot saved by Goalkeeper Salim Aziz who has been very impressive throughout the competition after Issah Yakubu of Benab Ajax Sports Academy was penalized for bringing down Isaac Asiamah in the penalty area midway through the second half.

Suale made no mistake when he was presented the second opportunity from the spot as he converted and wrapped up victory to secure a place in the Finals of the competition against Tamale Real Republicans who won the other semifinal fixture 3:1 against Kumasi Barcelona Babies on penalties.

Coach for Great Corinthians Juniors Rashi Mumin Salifu expressed his delight and thanked almighty Allah for the victory and progression to the final of the completion and added his team is fully prepared to win the competition for the Greater Accra Region.

‘’we are well prepared for the next opponent because Greater Accra is a very big region. If we have won the greater Accra, then definitely we are going to win the National. So we are confident that Insha Allah, we will win against any opponent that come our way”. Mumin Salifu Said.

For his part, Coach for Benab Ajax Sports Academy Ibrahim Mohammed blamed the loss on his team’s inability to take chances that came their way in the first half of the game but added the team is poised to bounce back in the third place play-off.

“We had a lot of chances in the first half and couldn’t make good use of the chances. In football if you don’t make good use of chances that come your way, things can turn against you. This is part of football. Its either, win lose or draw and we are going to bounce back in the third place game” Ibrahim Said.
