President Mahama Extends Ramadan Greetings to Ghanaians

Former President John Dramani Mahama has extended heartfelt greetings to Muslims in Ghana and across the world as they begin the holy month of Ramadan. In a message released on Thursday, Mr. Mahama, together with his wife Lordina, called on the faithful to embrace the season as a time of reflection, renewal, and unity.

“Assalamu alaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh! As we stand at the threshold of this blessed month of Ramadan, Lordina Dramani Mahama and I extend our warmest greetings to you and your families,” the statement opened.

The former president described Ramadan as a sacred period that goes beyond fasting, emphasizing its values of discipline, compassion, and generosity. He urged Muslims to remember the less fortunate while breaking their fasts and to use the season to strengthen bonds of love and peace within communities.

“May your prayers be answered, your good deeds be accepted, and may this Ramadan bring you closer to your Creator and to one another,” he said, adding that the true beauty of Ramadan lies in the spirit of togetherness and service.

Mr. Mahama also prayed for good health, peace of mind, and abundant mercies for all observing the fast. He concluded by wishing Ghanaians a spiritually fulfilling and blessed Ramadan: “From my family, we wish you a spiritually fulfilling and blessed Ramadan. Ramadan Mubarak! May Allah accept your worship.”

The message comes as Muslims across Ghana join millions worldwide in observing the month-long fast, marked by daily prayers, charity, and communal fellowship.
