Ghana’s COVID-19 cases drop to 301

Ghana’s active COVID-19 cases continues to drop significantly with 301 cases as of Wednesday, October 7, 2020. The Greater Accra still leads the COVID-19 hotspots with 195 active cases, according to data from the Ghana Health Service. Five regions as of October 7 had no active cases. They are the Upper West, North East, Northern, Savannah and Bono Regions. Ghana has since March conducted 497,782 COVID-19 tests, out of which 47,005 were positive. Three persons are in critical condition and 12 in severe conditions. The number of recoveries/discharge is 46,398, while the total number of deaths is 306.

A 54-year-old tailor, who allegedly had sex with his 15-year-old step-daughter and impregnated her at Adabraka in Accra, has appeared before an Accra Circuit Court. Ninety-eight upstream oil and gas contracts, valued at $389 million, have been cancelled due to the outbreak of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19).
