New Juaben North; ‘we are looking at finding a way for the final-year students’-MCE says

The educational stakeholders of the New Juaben North Municipal Assembly will meet today, Monday October 10,2022 to decide on what will happen to School Children after heavy down pours in the community.

There were significant floods in the area that left hundreds of people homeless and buried schools.

According to Comfort Asante, the municipal chief executive for the region, preparations are being made for the assembly to provide final-year junior high school pupils the necessary attention as they get ready to take the BECE next Monday.

Recent rains, The rains which lasted for more than three days, got worse as the community’s Densu river overflowed its banks.

“NADMO needs to do the assessment, but we are looking at finding a way for the final-year students. We will study the situation, if it is still raining in New Juaben North, there will be an education committee to find solutions to it.”

Personnel from the Eastern Regional Headquarters of the National Fire Service and the Ghana Police Service arrived on the site in response to distress calls from villagers, but they were rendered ineffective since they could not access the community due to the floodwaters.

Some property and company owners who had abandoned their residences and businesses made a plea to the government to “help them in these tough times” in an interview with Citi News.
