Vice President Jane Naana Opoku Agyemang has received a high-level delegation from Hwaseong, South Korea, led by the Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA), with discussions centered on strengthening trade, investment, and industrial cooperation with Ghanaian companies.
Welcoming the delegation in Accra, the Vice President underscored government’s commitment to positioning Ghana more prominently across global value chains. She emphasized that the country’s economic strategy is focused on moving beyond imports by attracting investment along production lines, ensuring that significant aspects of manufacturing take place locally.
Highlighting Ghana’s youthful population as a strategic advantage, she noted that partnerships must harness this talent to drive productivity and innovation. She pointed to South Korea’s example in fisheries training schools and research centres as a model Ghana is ready to learn from, while expressing readiness to collaborate across sectors including manufacturing, agribusiness, skills development, and technology.
The Vice President also referenced the delegation’s engagements with the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre and the Ekumfi constituency, stressing that such interactions are vital for building sustainable partnerships.
She welcomed the team to Ghana and reiterated the importance of human-centred cooperation that promotes shared prosperity and contributes to global peace. “Ghana remains open to partnerships that are truly collaborative and sustainable. This is the path we are taking to secure long-term economic growth and resilience,” she affirmed.
