The Ghana Education Service (GES) has officially responded to allegations of examination malpractice during the 2025 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE), following a report aired by JoyNews TV.
In a press release dated September 7, 2025, and signed by Daniel Fenyi, Public Relations Officer of the GES, the Service acknowledged receipt of the report and stated that it has formally requested access to the full documentary and original transcripts from JoyNews to thoroughly assess the claims.

“If the allegations are substantiated, the GES will initiate a full-scale investigation,” the statement read, emphasizing the Service’s commitment to maintaining the integrity of the examination process.
The GES strongly condemned any form of malpractice and assured the public of its zero-tolerance stance on such activities. It further announced plans to collaborate with key institutions including the West African Examinations Council (WAEC), National Security, and law enforcement agencies to investigate the matter and take appropriate action.
The press release comes amid growing public concern over the credibility of the BECE, which serves as a critical gateway for students transitioning to senior high school. Education stakeholders have called for transparency and accountability to safeguard the future of Ghana’s youth.
GES reiterated its dedication to upholding high standards in education and urged the public to remain calm as investigations proceed.
