Gender Ministry Probes Concerns Over Buaduyili School Feeding Programme

The Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection (MoGCSP) has commenced investigations into concerns raised by parents and teachers of Buaduyili Primary School in the Nanumba North Municipality regarding the quality and quantity of meals served under the Ghana School Feeding Programme (GSFP).

In a statement issued yesterday, the Ministry assured the public of Government’s commitment to ensuring that all beneficiary children under the Programme receive adequate, nutritious and quality meals in a safe learning environment. It emphasized that the GSFP remains a critical social protection intervention aimed at reducing hunger among school children, improving enrolment and attendance, and enhancing the nutritional wellbeing of pupils nationwide.

The Ministry, in collaboration with the GSFP Secretariat, has initiated inquiries to ascertain the facts surrounding the reported incident. It further indicated that appropriate sanctions would be applied to any individual or entity found culpable after the investigations.

Highlighting Government’s broader “Reset Agenda,” the Ministry noted ongoing efforts to strengthen social protection interventions, improve financing, and enhance monitoring and implementation of the GSFP to ensure efficiency, accountability and quality service delivery.

The statement called on Regional and Zonal Coordinators, Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies, community leaders, the media, parents and the general public to support the Ministry and the GSFP Secretariat in monitoring implementation and promoting transparency.

MoGCSP reaffirmed its resolve to safeguard the integrity of the Ghana School Feeding Programme, stressing that any action or omission undermining its objectives and standards would not be tolerated.
