Ghana is set to deepen cultural and tourism ties with Brazil following high-level discussions between the Deputy Minister for Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts, Hon. Yussif Issaka Jajah, and a Brazilian delegation led by renowned cultural ambassador Wode Maya.
The engagement focused on opportunities to strengthen relations through festivals, cultural exchange, and tourism promotion. The Brazilian delegation extended an invitation for Ghana to participate in the São Paulo Carnival and announced plans by a leading Samba school to feature Ghana as the central theme of its 2027 parade. The showcase will highlight Ghana’s rich history, culture, heritage, and iconic landmarks before millions of viewers worldwide.
Hon. Jajah welcomed the initiative, reaffirming the Ministry’s commitment to promoting Ghana’s culture, strengthening diaspora connections, boosting tourism, and advancing bilateral relations. He emphasized that such collaborations not only celebrate shared Afro-Brazilian heritage but also create new avenues for investment and global visibility.
The meeting marks another important step in leveraging cultural diplomacy to position Ghana as a vibrant hub for tourism and creative arts on the international stage.
