Seek Legal Action Over Voter Register Concerns- Ahiagbah to NDC

Richard Ahiagbah, Director of Communications for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), is questioning why the National Democratic Congress (NDC) hasn’t taken legal action to compel the Electoral Commission to conduct a forensic audit of the voter register.

Ahiagbah pointed out that in 2016, the NPP, then the opposition party, successfully used the courts to force the Commission to clean up the register, resulting in significant electoral reforms.

In a recent social media post, Ahiagbah asked, “Why isn’t the NDC seeking legal recourse to push for their demands, especially if it’s about enhancing the integrity of our electoral system?”

He emphasized that the court option has proven effective in the past, citing the NPP’s experience as a prime example.

Ahiagbah’s statement comes on the heels of the “Enough is Enough” nationwide demonstration, highlighting the NDC’s concerns about the voter register. By taking the legal route, Ahiagbah suggests the NDC could achieve their goals and contribute to improving Ghana’s electoral process.
