The Fulani Community in Ghana has called on the government to do more to protect the lives of members residing in the country.
The Community’s plea stems from an attack on Zakoli, a suburb of Yendi,that led to the death of nine people. Four more people also got injured during the attacks. Again, several homes were burnt and properties destroyed.
As at now the Ghana Police Service and National Security have not released an official statement on the gory happenings yet. This has left the people worried about the safety and security in the country.
Meanwhile, Dakin Labarai on Baina TV has been reliably informed that Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia visited the scene to commiserate with the bereaved families.

The Member of Parliament for the Madina Constituency, Francis-Xavier Sosu, has called on the Ministry of Gender and Social Protection, the Commission on Human Rights and Administrative
Justice, CHRAJ, and other stakeholders, to devise a campaign that will advocate for the protection of minority groups such as Fulanis in Ghana.
According to him, this will lead to attitudinal change and tackle stigma and discrimination towards persons belonging to such groups.
