Education Ministry Urges Police to Intensify Manhunt for Bole SHS Teacher

The Ministry of Education has called on the Ghana Police Service to intensify efforts to track, arrest, and prosecute an interdicted Bole Senior High School teacher who remains at large despite a nationwide manhunt.

In a statement signed by Deputy Minister for Education, Dr. Clement Abas Apaak (MP), the Ministry expressed concern over the failure to apprehend the suspect, stressing that the alleged misconduct was serious and inconsistent with professional standards. The statement noted reports of the fugitive granting interviews while evading arrest, describing the development as unacceptable.

Minister for Education, Hon. Haruna Iddrisu, condemned the incident, emphasizing that discipline in the education sector cannot be compromised. He reaffirmed the Ministry’s commitment to upholding professional conduct among teachers and protecting students from misconduct.

The Ministry further announced plans to convene a National Dialogue on tackling indiscipline in schools, aimed at strengthening accountability and reinforcing ethical standards in the education system.

Officials urged the Police Service to intensify tracking efforts and bring the suspect to justice, warning that misconduct in schools undermines public trust and the integrity of Ghana’s education system.
