The Ghana Education Service (GES) has issued a National Harmonised Prospectus for the 2026/27 academic year, outlining required items for both day and boarding students as part of efforts to standardize school supplies nationwide.
For day students, the prospectus lists essentials including a mathematical set and scientific calculator, decent sandals and sneakers (school‑specific, without embellishment), and a school bag.
Boarding students are required to present a broader set of items, including a hard body suitcase or trunk, chop box, cutlery, toiletries, bedding, mosquito net, and school‑specific uniforms and footwear. The list also covers personal items such as nightwear, undergarments, and study materials.
In addition, all students must contribute to school upkeep by purchasing items from designated supply groups. Options include cleaning materials such as gloves, soap, bleach, brooms, scrubbing brushes, or mops and dusters.
The GES emphasized that all personal items should be embossed or embroidered with the student’s name to ensure accountability and prevent loss.
Officials say the harmonised prospectus is part of reforms to streamline requirements across schools, reduce disparities, and ensure fairness in student preparation.
