The Volta North Regional Police Command has arrested three former students of Hohoe E.P. Senior High School after they were captured in a viral video destroying school property shortly after completing their final examinations.
According to the Police, the incident occurred on Friday, June 19, 2026, when about five immediate past students allegedly damaged the school’s water pipeline before leaving campus. Following a complaint filed by school authorities, intelligence surveillance was deployed, leading to the arrest of three suspects.
The arrested individuals have been identified as Rashid Suraj Dakpo (19), Alhassan Mohammed (20), and Abdul Kadri Abdulai (20). They have been handed over to the Regional Investigations Department to assist with inquiries and will be processed for criminal trial.
Police noted that such acts of vandalism are becoming increasingly common and warned that any student caught engaging in similar behaviour will face the full rigours of the law. Efforts are underway to apprehend the remaining suspects.
The Command also urged parents, guardians, and teachers to caution their wards against destructive conduct, stressing the consequences of such actions.
The statement was signed by Inspector Felix Kwao, Public Relations Officer for the Volta North Region–Hohoe.
