President John Mahama has put forward a fresh roster of Ambassadors and High Commissioners to serve as Ghana’s representatives in various international assignments.
The disclosure, made through an official release endorsed by the Secretary to the President, Dr. Callistus Mahama, comes after deliberations with the Council of State. It reflects the government’s ambition to revitalize Ghana’s diplomatic strategy amid a shifting political landscape.
Notable among the nominees is Mona Helen Kabuki Quartey, a former minister and distinguished economist, selected to lead Ghana’s diplomatic mission in Italy. Dr. Kwame Ampofo, a veteran in the energy sector, has been chosen to represent Ghana in Hungary.
Other key figures include seasoned statesman Paul Evans Aidoo, appointed to Kenya, and ex-Deputy Speaker of Parliament Magnus Kofi Amoatey, who will serve as Ghana’s ambassador to the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
Attah Kojo Choi, nominated as Ambassador to South Korea, arrived in Ghana at the age of 14 and has since become a naturalized citizen.

The Office of the President has directed the appropriate institutions to commence the necessary procedures to formalize these appointments.
These candidates will be subject to further scrutiny and approval in accordance with constitutional requirements.
