President John Dramani Mahama has officially constituted the Presidential Advisory Group on the Economy (PAGE), a high-level body tasked with providing strategic, independent, and non-partisan economic counsel to the Presidency.
The group, chaired by the President, comprises twelve distinguished individuals drawn from academia, public service, and the private sector. Members include Vice President H.E. Prof. Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang, economists Dr. Kwabena Duffuor and Mr. Kwame Pianim, private sector leaders such as Sir Samuel Esson Jonah and Togbe Afede XIV, and academic researchers Prof. Priscilla Twumasi Baffour and Prof. Patience Aseweh Abor.
The formation of PAGE aligns with Government’s commitment to restoring macroeconomic stability, strengthening fiscal sustainability, and accelerating inclusive, job-rich growth under the 24-Hour Economy, the Accelerated Export Development Programme, and the broader Reset Agenda.
According to a statement issued by the Presidency Communications Directorate, PAGE will advise on macroeconomic management, fiscal consolidation, debt sustainability, and coherence between fiscal and monetary policy. The group will also guide structural transformation, industrial competitiveness, private-sector expansion, and sustainable job creation.
Additionally, PAGE will support the design and implementation of key national productivity reforms and contribute expert input to Ghana’s economic engagements with development partners and investors.
The group is expected to submit advisory memoranda and strategic reviews directly to the President, reinforcing evidence-based decision-making and sound economic governance.
Felix Kwakye Ofosu, MP and Minister for Government Communications, signed the statement on behalf of the Presidency.
