The Western Regional Police Command has confirmed the arrest of a 45-year-old man, Kudjo Ntow, for the alleged rape and murder of his wife’s niece, 17-year-old Olivia Kwofie, at Agona Nkwanta in the Western Region.
According to police reports, the incident occurred on June 1, 2026, when the suspect allegedly sealed the victim’s mouth with super glue, raped her, and subsequently murdered her before fleeing the scene. A witness, Samuel Kingsford Kwofie, discovered the victim tied up and was attacked by the suspect while attempting to rescue her.
Police later found the victim deceased and launched a manhunt for Ntow, who was arrested on June 2 at his hideout in Nsuaem. He was arraigned before the Apollo Circuit Court in Takoradi on June 3, where he was remanded into custody. The case has been adjourned to June 17, 2026.
The Command assured the public of its commitment to ensuring justice in the matter and urged communities to remain vigilant against acts of violence.
