OSP to Arraign Former Finance Minister and Seven Others on 24 November

The Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) has announced that the high-profile case The Republic v. Kenneth Ofori-Atta & 7 Others is scheduled for its first appearance in court on Monday, 24 November 2025.

According to the OSP, the accused persons face a combined total of dozens of counts relating to corruption and corruption-related offences arising from investigations into revenue assurance and related contractual engagements. The charge sheet, which the OSP says is ready for filing, outlines various alleged infractions said to have caused significant financial loss to the state.

In a statement, the OSP indicated that it will seek the necessary court orders to enable service of the charge sheet on accused persons currently outside the jurisdiction. Officials say these moves are aimed at ensuring that all individuals connected to the case are brought before the court to answer to the charges.

The upcoming arraignment marks a major step in what is expected to become one of the most closely watched corruption trials in recent years. Legal analysts note that the proceedings could have wide-ranging implications for public accountability, governance reforms, and the future of anti-corruption enforcement in the country.

The OSP has assured the public of transparency throughout the process, stressing its commitment to upholding due process while vigorously pursuing the state’s interest.

As the case heads to court, many Ghanaians will be watching keenly as the judiciary begins its role in determining the facts behind the allegations.
