Michael Blackson’s Eurobond Nightmare: Comedian’s Assistant Receives Threats After He Criticizes Ghana Government

Ghanaian-American comedian Michael Blackson revealed his assistant in Ghana has received threats after he publicly criticized his experience investing in Ghana’s Eurobond.

Blackson had shared his frustration on social media, stating the government had “robbed” him of his investment.

In a recent tweet, Blackson questioned why his assistant was targeted: “Let me get this straight, I decided to come home because of the love and passion I have for home but I get robbed and since I don’t have the power to fight back, I decided to tell the world my problem and now they threaten my people. Smh,” he stated in his tweet.

Blackson vowed not to be silenced: “I fear no one but God; I’ll tweet daily until action is taken. As an American by naturalization and Ghanaian by blood, I’ll exercise my freedom of speech.”

Blackson explained he researched Ghana’s bond history, believing it to be stable: “Ghana’s bond history showed no issues, so I invested $1 million, expecting $10,000 monthly interest to support my school’s expenses. However, after one payment, it stopped. For two years, they held my million, and I had to cover the $10,000 monthly costs. That’s why I’m outraged.” he said.
