Foreign Minister and Member of Parliament for North Tongu, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, has expressed gratitude to former President John Mahama and the Minister for Roads and Highways for what he described as “numerous road projects awarded to credible contractors” in his constituency.
In a Facebook post, Mr. Ablakwa revealed that he had inspected preparations for the commencement of work on the Mepe-Sege road project, a 31.2-kilometre stretch awarded to Messrs Shenashe Limited on November 11, 2025. He noted that designs and site preparations have been completed, paving the way for construction to begin.
The project, expected to be completed within 24 months, is designed as a first-class road. According to Mr. Ablakwa, it will significantly boost economic activity, improve access to health facilities such as the Battor Catholic Hospital and the Mepe Health Centre, and serve as a vital agricultural corridor for transporting farm produce from one of Ghana’s most important food baskets.
Other key infrastructure projects earmarked for the constituency include:
- Volivo to Dorfor Adidome Bridge
- Juapong-Podoe-Abutia Road
- Frankadua-Podoe-Adidome Road
- Aveyime-Asutsuare Road
- Completion works on the Juapong-Volo-Adidome Road
Mr. Ablakwa assured constituents that he will continue lobbying for more strategic projects to accelerate development in North Tongu.
“Together, we shall transform our beautiful constituency,” he affirmed.
