The Ghana Gold Board (GoldBod) has begun discussions with the Ghana Geological Survey Authority (GGSA) to explore a partnership for geological investigations on blocked and mineralized areas earmarked for development under GoldBod’s Mining Support Program.

The move is aimed at leveraging GGSA’s technical expertise to assess and map the mineral potential of targeted sites, ensuring that future mining activities are based on accurate geological data.
According to GoldBod, the collaboration will form a critical part of its strategy to boost responsible mining, enhance resource utilization, and support the growth of Ghana’s gold sector.
Officials say the Mining Support Program is designed to open up new opportunities for small- and medium-scale miners while safeguarding environmental and community interests.
Further details on the scope of the investigations and timelines for commencement are expected to be announced after the conclusion of the talks.
