The Chief Executive Officer of GoldBod, Lawyer Sammy Gyamfi, has toured the Royal Ghana Gold Refinery as part of ongoing processes to finalize a refining services agreement with the facility.

The visit forms part of the broader local value addition agenda being championed by the NDC/Mahama government, which seeks to strengthen Ghana’s position in the global gold industry by ensuring that more of the country’s mineral resources are processed locally.

Mr. Gyamfi, who is also a prominent legal practitioner, underscored the strategic importance of the partnership, noting that the agreement will not only enhance GoldBod’s refining capacity but also contribute to job creation and economic growth.

The Royal Ghana Gold Refinery, established to boost Ghana’s downstream gold sector, is expected to play a pivotal role in transforming raw gold exports into refined products, thereby maximizing value retention within the country.

The proposed agreement is seen as a significant step toward aligning private sector initiatives with government policy, reinforcing Ghana’s commitment to industrialization and sustainable resource management.
