The Director-General of the Ghana Education Service (GES), Prof. Kofi Davis, together with Deputy Director-Generals Prof. Smile Dzisi and Dr. Issahaque Munawaru, has embarked on a nationwide tour of examination centres as part of oversight measures for the ongoing West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE).
The high-level team has been paying unannounced visits to schools across the country, gathering first-hand information, closely monitoring examination activities, observing processes, and providing direct support to teachers, invigilators, and supervisors.
According to the GES, the visits are aimed at ensuring that the examinations are conducted in an atmosphere of integrity, fairness, and transparency. At each centre, the leadership emphasises the need for all officials to uphold the highest standards of professionalism and reminds stakeholders of their shared responsibility to protect the credibility of the examination process and the future of the Ghanaian child.
Prof. Davis reiterated the Service’s firm commitment to sanitising the system, clamping down on all forms of examination malpractice, and upholding educational standards. He assured the public that every measure is being taken to protect the sanctity of the WASSCE and to guarantee a level playing field for all candidates.
The GES has called on parents, guardians, teachers, and the wider public to support this effort, stressing that safeguarding the integrity of the nation’s education system is a collective duty essential to securing a brighter future for Ghana.
