Court Grants Bail to Self-Proclaimed Doomsday Prophet, Ebo Noah

The Accra High Court has granted bail to self-styled doomsday preacher, Ebo Noah, in the sum of GH¢100,000, with two sureties. One of the sureties is required to provide verifiable collateral in the form of either a landed property or a vehicle. The case has been adjourned to March 18, 2026, for continuation.

The ruling was warmly received by the defence team. Addressing journalists after proceedings, Emmanuel Sarfo, counsel for the accused, described the decision as a fair application of judicial discretion.

“Thankfully, the court has exercised its discretion because discretion must always be fair, reasonable and just. So, it exercised it well pursuant to our laws and admitted our accused to bail with any property, with a landed property or a vehicle, in the amount of GHS100,000, and that is all,” he said.

Under the bail terms, Noah must present two sureties to guarantee his attendance in court, with one backed by tangible property. The court stressed that strict adherence to these conditions is compulsory, warning that any breach could lead to the withdrawal of bail.

The matter is expected to resume on March 18, 2026, giving both prosecution and defence more time to prepare for the next stage of trial.

Noah, whose birth name is Evans Eshun, was arrested by the Ghana Police Service’s Special Cyber Vetting Team on December 31, 2025. His case has attracted widespread public interest following his pronouncement that God had revealed to him a catastrophic flood would engulf the world on December 25, 2025.

In anticipation of the supposed disaster, the self-proclaimed prophet constructed what he called an “ark” at his residence, claiming it would safeguard humanity.

When the foretold calamity failed to occur, Noah later revised his prophecy, insisting that his prayers had successfully delayed the destruction.
