The Chief Justice of the Republic of Ghana, His Lordship Paul Kwadwo Baffoe-Bonnie, has underscored the importance of legal education, civic responsibility, and ethical training in Ghana’s schools, stressing that a well-informed citizenry is vital to sustaining democracy and respect for the rule of law.
He made the remarks when he, together with the Learned Attorney General and Minister of Justice, Dr. Dominic Akuritinga Ayine, Justice Gabriel Scott Pwamang, and Dr. Raymond A. Atuguba, paid a courtesy call on the Ministry of Education in Accra.
The visit formed part of efforts to strengthen institutional collaboration between the Judiciary and the education sector. It provided an opportunity for discussions on matters of mutual interest, particularly the role of education in promoting justice, rule of law, and national development.
The Chief Justice emphasized that embedding civic and ethical training within Ghana’s educational system would help nurture responsible citizens who value justice and uphold democratic principles. He noted that such collaboration between the Judiciary and the Ministry of Education is essential in advancing national development.
