A non-denominational thanksgiving service is taking place at the forecourt of the Presidency today, Wednesday, 7th January 2026, to commemorate one year of President John Dramani Mahama’s administration.
The event, which begins at 8:00am, brings together government officials, clergy, traditional leaders, and members of the public in a solemn ceremony of reflection and gratitude.
Held under the theme “Resetting. Rebuilding. Renewing.”, the service marks a symbolic moment in the President’s tenure, highlighting the administration’s commitment to national renewal and inclusive governance.
The thanksgiving service features prayers, scripture readings, and musical performances, with speakers calling for unity, peace, and continued progress.
The Presidency describes the event as an opportunity to acknowledge divine guidance over the past year and to seek blessings for the years ahead.
The ceremony forms part of a series of activities marking the first anniversary of President Mahama’s leadership since assuming office.
