Deputy Education Minister Urges Investment in Young Innovators

 Deputy Minister for Education, Dr. Clement Apaak, has called for greater investment in young innovators, stressing that Ghana must provide students with opportunities, mentorship, and resources to develop their talents.

He made the appeal at the 2026 Ghana Science and Technology Explorer Prize (GSTEP) Exhibition and Awards Ceremony held at the University of Ghana, where students showcased innovative projects designed to address national challenges.

Dr. Apaak said the creativity and solutions on display underscored the importance of strengthening STEM education to nurture innovation and problem‑solving skills. He reaffirmed the Ministry’s commitment to expanding STEM programmes and integrating coding, robotics, digital literacy, and artificial intelligence into teaching and learning.

Encouraging students to remain curious, resilient, and innovative, he urged stakeholders to continue investing in young people, noting that Ghana’s future depends on the ideas and creativity of the next generation.

The GSTEP Exhibition brought together students, educators, and policymakers, highlighting the role of science and technology in shaping Ghana’s development agenda.
