The Accra Regional Police Command has issued an update on the fire outbreak at the Accra Central Police Barracks, clarifying that no arrests have been made in connection with the incident.
In a statement released on Thursday, June 4, 2026, the Command dismissed earlier reports suggesting arrests had been effected, stressing that investigations are still ongoing.
A fire officer who sustained injuries during the operation is currently receiving treatment at the Police Hospital and is reported to be in stable condition. Authorities confirmed that no fatalities have been recorded, though the cause of the fire is yet to be determined.
The Command commended the Ghana National Fire Service and all officers who assisted in containing the blaze and ensuring safety at the scene. Officials assured the public that further developments will be communicated as investigations progress.
