Interior Minister, IGP, and Fire Chief Visit Injured Officer; Assess Barracks Fire Damage

The Minister for the Interior, Hon. Muntaka Mohammed-Mubarak, together with the Inspector-General of Police and the Chief Fire Officer, has visited the fire officer injured during the recent blaze at the Accra Central Police Barracks.

The officer, who sustained injuries while battling the fire, is currently receiving treatment at the Police Hospital and is reported to be in stable condition.

Following the hospital visit, the delegation proceeded to the barracks to assess the extent of damage caused by the outbreak. Thirty-two rooms and a one-storey building were destroyed, leaving several police personnel displaced.

Authorities assured affected officers of immediate support and pledged coordinated efforts to restore facilities and welfare provisions. The visit underscored government’s commitment to the safety and wellbeing of security personnel in the line of duty.
