17 Ghanaians Evacuated Safely Amid Iran–Israel Hostilities – Foreign Affairs Minister

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration has confirmed the successful evacuation of 17 Ghanaian nationals from conflict zones during the recent escalation of hostilities between the Islamic Republic of Iran and the State of Israel.

Foreign Affairs Minister Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa said the coordinated operation demonstrated Ghana’s preparedness to act swiftly in safeguarding its citizens abroad during periods of global instability.

The Minister explained that the evacuation was the result of rapid diplomatic and logistical interventions, supported by Ghana’s missions in the affected region. “Our rapid response affirms the importance of strong diplomatic networks and contingency planning,” he stated, assuring that no Ghanaian would be left unaided in times of crisis.

Mr. Ablakwa also announced that Ghana’s embassy in Tehran, which was temporarily closed as a precautionary measure during the height of the tensions, will fully reopen before the end of the year.

He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to monitoring global developments closely and taking decisive action whenever the safety and welfare of Ghanaians abroad are at risk.
