Supreme Court Allows Democracy Hub to Join Wesley Girls’ Case as Amicus Curiae

The Supreme Court has authorized Democracy Hub to participate in the case against Wesley Girls’ Senior High School as amicus curiae, permitting the organization to present legal submissions to aid the Court’s consideration.

Through this decision, Democracy Hub, led by Oliver Barker-Vormawor, is allowed to share its views on claims that the school restricts Muslim students from observing their religion and obliges them to engage in Methodist practices.

The principal suit, initiated by private attorney Shafic Osman, charges Wesley Girls with widespread violations of human rights and religious bias in breach of the 1992 Constitution.

Nonetheless, the Court has instructed that Democracy Hub may submit its arguments only after all parties have finalized their filings.
