President John Dramani Mahama has arrived in Paris, France, to participate in the 8th Edition of the Paris Peace Forum, which takes place on 29 and 30 October 2025. The President’s participation underscores Ghana’s continued commitment to global dialogue, peacebuilding, and multilateral cooperation.
According to a statement issued by Felix Kwakye Ofosu, Member of Parliament and Spokesperson to the President, the Paris Peace Forum will bring together world leaders, policymakers, and civil society actors to deliberate on pressing international challenges, including conflict resolution, climate change, and sustainable development. President Mahama is expected to contribute Ghana’s perspective on peace and security, drawing from the country’s long-standing reputation as a beacon of stability in the sub-region.
From Paris, President Mahama will proceed to Cairo, Egypt, at the invitation of the Egyptian President, to attend the historic opening of the Grand Egyptian Museum on Saturday, 1 November 2025. The museum, which has been described as the largest archaeological museum in the world, will showcase Egypt’s rich cultural heritage, including the complete collection of artifacts from the tomb of Pharaoh Tutankhamun. The event is expected to attract dignitaries, cultural leaders, and heads of state from across the globe.
The President’s itinerary reflects Ghana’s active role on the international stage, strengthening diplomatic ties while also promoting cultural exchange. His presence at both the Paris Peace Forum and the Cairo museum opening highlights the country’s dual commitment to peace and global heritage.
President Mahama is scheduled to return to Accra on Sunday, 2 November 2025, after concluding his engagements abroad.
The statement from the Ministry of Government Communications emphasized that the President’s participation in these events aligns with Ghana’s foreign policy objectives of fostering peace, deepening bilateral relations, and enhancing the nation’s visibility in international affairs.
As Ghana continues to play a pivotal role in African and global diplomacy, the President’s engagements in Paris and Cairo are expected to further consolidate the country’s standing as a trusted partner in peace and cultural cooperation.
