President John Dramani Mahama has commissioned a newly constructed mosque for the Akweteman Muslim Community in Accra.

The brief ceremony, held on Thursday, was attended by the National Chief Imam, Sheikh Osman Nuhu Sharubutu, alongside prominent Muslim leaders and political figures.

The President commended the community for its commitment to faith and unity, noting that the mosque would serve not only as a place of worship but also as a centre for social cohesion and moral guidance.

He emphasized the importance of religious tolerance and peaceful coexistence, describing the mosque as a symbol of Ghana’s diversity and shared values.
The commissioning marks a significant milestone for the Akweteman Muslim Community, which has long sought a modern facility to accommodate its growing congregation.
