NPA Assures Public of Stable Fuel Supply Amid Global Market Concerns

The National Petroleum Authority (NPA) has moved to calm public concerns over fuel availability and pricing, assuring Ghanaians that the country has adequate stocks of petroleum products and that the national fuel supply situation remains stable.

In a press release issued on Wednesday, the NPA emphasized that recent developments in global energy markets will not disrupt fuel supply or trigger panic buying in Ghana. The Authority stated that it is working closely with the Ministry of Energy and Green Transition, Bulk Import, Distribution and Export Companies (BIDECs), BOST Energies, and local refineries to maintain reliable supply and market stability.

Petrol (PMS), Diesel (AGO), Aviation Turbine Kerosene (ATK), and Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) are all confirmed to be in sufficient stock, according to the release. The NPA highlighted proactive measures such as strategic stockholding, real-time monitoring, and coordinated distribution as key to safeguarding national fuel security.

“There is no cause for alarm,” the statement read. “The petroleum supply chain continues to function normally, and the Authority will keep the public informed of any developments.”

The NPA urged consumers to avoid panic buying and reiterated its commitment to transparency and timely communication.

For further inquiries, the public is encouraged to contact the NPA via its official channels.
