In a remarkable show of compassion during the month of love, the National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA) has donated GHS 800,000 to the Ghana Medical Trust Fund (GMTF). The funds were raised through voluntary contributions from management and staff of the Authority.
The donation, described as “love in action,” is aimed at supporting patients living with non-communicable diseases (NCDs) across the country. The NHIA’s gesture goes beyond institutional support, reflecting leadership that inspires empathy and a collective belief that no Ghanaian battling NCDs should be left behind.
“This support will directly touch lives, ease suffering, and restore hope to patients and families who are fighting battles they never chose,” the GMTF said in appreciation.
Special recognition was extended to Dr. Victor Asare Bampoe, CEO of NHIA, whose unwavering support for the Fund from its inception has set the tone for this extraordinary act of kindness.
The GMTF emphasized that “it takes a community to save a community” and called on institutions, organizations, and individuals to join the growing movement of compassion. Contributions can be made via *dial 255# across all networks, or through direct bank transfers to:
