Nana Agradaa sentenced to 15 years for fraud and charlatanic advertising

Former traditional priestess-turned-evangelist, Patricia Asiedua Asiamah widely known as Nana Agradaa, has been sentenced to 15 years in prison by the Circuit Court in Accra.

The conviction stems from charges of defrauding by false pretence and engaging in charlatanic advertisement. The court found that in 2022, Agradaa used a televised broadcast to promote claims of spiritual powers capable of doubling money. She encouraged viewers to hand over large sums with the promise of extraordinary financial returns—promises that were never delivered.

Authorities say the misleading claims caused multiple victims to lose significant amounts of money. The sentencing brings an end to a high-profile trial that captured national attention and sparked broader conversations about deceptive spiritual practices and public trust.
