Ghana Police Interdict Five Officers Over Viral Videos

The Ghana Police Service has interdicted five of its personnel following the circulation of viral videos that the Service says have brought its image into disrepute.

In a statement issued by the Public Affairs Directorate, the affected officers were identified as Inspector Emmanuel K. Ofori, Sergeant Isaac Mensah, Corporal Sarah Owusu, Lance Corporal Daniel Tetteh, and Constable Josephine Adjei. They have been handed over to the Police Professional Standards Bureau for further investigation.

The Service emphasized its commitment to upholding professionalism, integrity, and accountability, assuring the public that appropriate action will be taken once investigations are concluded.

“The interdiction underscores our resolve to maintain discipline within the ranks and safeguard public confidence in the Ghana Police Service,” the release stated.

The announcement was signed by Deputy Commissioner of Police Grace Ansah-Akrofi, Director-General of Public Affairs.

This move comes amid heightened public scrutiny of law enforcement conduct, with the Service reiterating its determination to ensure that officers adhere strictly to ethical standards.
