Captain Jordan Ayew and midfielder Mohammed Kudus have been excluded from Ghana’s 22-man roster for the upcoming international friendlies against Japan and South Korea.
Kudus, who has missed Tottenham Hotspur’s last two fixtures, is currently recovering from an injury and will stay in England throughout the international window.
No formal explanation has been provided for Ayew’s omission.
In the meantime, striker Prince Kwabena Adu, who plays in the Czech Republic, has received his maiden national team invitation after netting six goals for Viktoria Plzeň.
He is joined by two other first-time call-ups: Kelvin Nkrumah of Medeama SC—who has appeared in all nine Ghana Premier League matches as his team holds second place—and Prince Osei Owusu of FC Montreal, who has scored nine times in 31 games.
Left-back Derrick Kohn is also in line to make his debut for the Black Stars, having finalized his nationality change through FIFA.
Head coach Otto Addo is set to oversee his initial training session in Nagoya on Wednesday, in preparation for Ghana’s Kirin Cup encounter with Japan on Friday, November 14.
The Black Stars will then face South Korea four days later.
These fixtures are part of Ghana’s build-up to the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
