The Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Gold Board (GoldBod), Sammy Gyamfi, Esq., has welcomed a high-level delegation of the Kimberley Process to Ghana as the country hosts a review visit under the Kimberley Process Certification Scheme (KPCS) from March 9 to March 12, 2026.

Addressing the delegation in Accra, Mr. Gyamfi reaffirmed Ghana’s commitment to transparency, accountability, and responsible governance in the international diamond trade. He emphasized that Ghana remains steadfast in upholding the principles of the Kimberley Process, which seeks to eliminate conflict diamonds from the global supply chain.

The review visit provides an opportunity for constructive engagement and collaboration among participating institutions while assessing Ghana’s implementation of the Kimberley Process. It also aims to strengthen systems that ensure diamonds produced and exported from the country meet international standards and contribute to national development.
Officials noted that the mission will involve consultations with government agencies, industry stakeholders, and civil society groups. The findings are expected to highlight Ghana’s progress in compliance and identify areas for improvement, reinforcing the country’s role as a responsible player in the global diamond trade.
This review underscores Ghana’s determination to align its mineral governance with international best practices, ensuring that the benefits of diamond production support sustainable economic growth and development.
