Ghana’s Minister for Foreign Affairs, Honourable Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa (MP), has arrived in Burkina Faso for a two-day official visit aimed at strengthening bilateral relations and deepening cooperation between the two neighbouring countries.

On arrival, Mr. Ablakwa was received by his Burkinabè counterpart, His Excellency Karamoko Jean-Marie Traoré, and Ghana’s Ambassador to Burkina Faso, His Excellency Kenneth Akibate.
The visit is expected to focus on enhancing security cooperation, intensifying political consultations, and signing strategic agreements to consolidate relations between the two countries, particularly in response to evolving regional security challenges.
Prior to his departure from Accra, the Minister visited the 37 Military Hospital to express solidarity with Ghanaian survivors of the February 14 terrorist attack in Titao, northern Burkina Faso. The injured traders were airlifted to Ghana by the Ghana Air Force and are currently receiving medical care.
The official engagements in Ouagadougou are anticipated to reinforce Ghana and Burkina Faso’s shared commitment to peace, security, and regional stability, while opening new avenues for collaboration across political and economic fronts.
