The Ghana Gold Board (Goldbod) has officially suspended the operating license of Evanex Gold Enterprise, a Tier 2 licensed gold buying firm, following adverse findings from an ongoing investigation into illegal gold trading activities.
In a press statement issued on Thursday, August 28, GoldBod directed all licensed traders, miners, and the general public to desist from conducting or engaging in any form of gold transaction with Evanex Gold Enterprise.

According to the statement, the suspension is in line with the terms and conditions governing the company’s license and forms part of broader efforts to sanitise the gold trading sector and uphold regulatory standards.
“Evanex Gold Enterprise is hereby suspended from trading or engaging in any form of gold transactions,” the notice read.
The Ghana Gold Board has in recent months intensified its oversight of licensed gold dealers, following concerns over unregulated activities and breaches of compliance protocols. The Board has reiterated its commitment to ensuring transparency, accountability, and lawful conduct within the gold value chain.
Industry stakeholders have been urged to take note of the suspension and refrain from conducting any business with the affected company during the period of regulatory action.
The Compliance Directorate further indicated that additional measures may be taken depending on the outcome of the investigation, and assured the public of its resolve to protect Ghana’s mineral wealth from exploitation and abuse.
Evanex Gold Enterprise has yet to issue a public response regarding the suspension.
