Minister for the Interior, Hon. Muntaka Mohammed-Mubarak, has reaffirmed government’s commitment to a transparent and merit-based recruitment process during a visit to the Ghana Prisons Service Training School screening centre in Accra.

The Minister, who toured the facility as part of the Ministry’s supervisory mandate, observed the ongoing screening exercise and engaged with applicants and officials overseeing the process. He assured prospective recruits that the exercise was being conducted in strict adherence to established procedures.

“Applicants must go through the approved channels without attempting to cut corners,” Hon. Muntaka stated, warning against the influence of fraudulent middlemen who promise placement in exchange for money. He cautioned that anyone found engaging in such deceptive practices would face arrest and prosecution.
To curb fraud and enhance accountability, the Minister revealed that a centralized payment system had been instituted, allowing applicants to track their transactions and receipts. He added that robust monitoring mechanisms were in place, including oversight by the Criminal Investigations Department (CID), Police Intelligence Directorate (PID), National Signals Bureau, and other security agencies.
Hon. Muntaka commended the Commander and officers at the screening centre for their effective planning and smooth execution of the exercise. He also praised the discipline and comportment of the applicants, urging all security agencies under the Ministry to adopt best practices in recruitment and personnel management.
The visit underscores the Ministry’s resolve to uphold integrity and professionalism in the recruitment of personnel into Ghana’s security services.
