Police Exhume Human Remains From Shrine in Central Tongu

The Homicide Unit of the Ghana Police Service has uncovered and exhumed multiple human remains from a shrine at Gblorkope in the Central Tongu District, in connection with the suspected ritual murder of 28-year-old Nelson Anyana.

The discovery followed an intensive investigation into Nelson’s disappearance, which led police detectives from the Ho Homicide Unit, accompanied by three key suspects, to a compound suspected to be used for ritual activities.

At the shrine, police exhumed a decomposed body suspected to be Nelson, confirming earlier suspicions of foul play.
In a shocking twist, the team also found three additional skeletal remains buried beneath various idols at the same shrine.

Assorted human body parts believed to belong to other victims were also discovered buried in nearby bushes, raising strong suspicions that the area had been used for serial ritual killings.

Six suspects have since been arrested and arraigned in connection with the case. This Amateur video shows how they were picked. The investigation marks a major breakthrough in unravelling what authorities suspect may be a broader network of ritualistic murders in the region.
